VHHS wrestling team will be hosting the "Heart of Dixie" Tournament December 28 and 29. Wrestlers on our team will be encouraged to come to the tournament and work as runners and time keepers. This tournament will have some of the best teams in the nation. It will be a freat opportunity to watch and learn from the best wrestlers in the nation.

St. Nick Christmas Tournament

The St. Nick Tournament is an individual tournament. The wrestlers will be placed in a 32 man bracket. Wrestlers will wrestle 5 times if they win their bracket or until they have 2 loses. The most they are allowed to wrestle is 5 times a day under AHSAA rules.

The tournament is scheduled to start at 5:30 on Friday, December 17th. The wrestlers will ride the bus to Pelham High School on Friday. The bus will leave about 3:40. We will weigh in on Friday and Saturday morning. Weigh in Saturday is from 7:00-8:00 AM. Wrestling is scheduled to start at 8:30 AM Saturday morning. This tournament is being run on TrackWrestling and the brackets can be viewed online at www.trackwrestling.com.

Homewood Dual Team Tournament

Tournament Friday (Dec 10th) and Saturday (Dec 11th)

Today the boys will ride the bus to the tournament. They will leave Pizitz around 3:45. Weigh in begins at 4 and wrestling starts at 5:00.

The tournament is set up so that our team will wrestle another team all on one mat and then will move to another mat to wrestle another team.

Wrestling will start back Saturday at 9 and end around 3.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR SON AT HOMEWOOD NO LATER THAN 8:30 SATURDAY MORNING!

Adult $6.00 a day
Students $4.00 a day
Children 5 and under- free
Family Tourney Pass $30.00 immediate family only

Directions to Homewood Middle School
1. Take I-65 North to the Oxmoor Road Exit.
2. At the bottom of the ramp, turn RIGHT.
3. The first light is Green Springs Hwy, turn LEFT
4. Go to the 2nd light and turn RIGHT onto Valley Ave.
5. The school is about 3/4 to 1 mile on your right

Friday, I am sending home a informational sheet today about the Homewood Tournament. Bus leaves at 3:45, Weigh-in at 4:00, wrestling is supposed to begin at 5:00.

PARENTS need to have their wrestler at Homewood Middle School Saturday morning no later than 8:30 AM. Wrestling starts at 9:00 AM and should finish about 3:00 PM.
